FLENDER UNVEILS INDIA’S LARGEST WIND TURBINE GEARBOX TEST RIG IN WALAJABAD

India, Chennai, March 9, 2026:  Flender, a global leader in drive technology, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art 13.5 MW wind turbine gearbox Test Rig at its Walajabad facility on 5th March evening. The inaugural event was witnessed by Andreas Evertz – Flender Group CEO, Lars Wiegemann – Vice President Wind Gears, Vinod Shetty – CEO Flender India along with all their Wind industry customers and other stakeholders.

This new Test Rig is the largest of its kind in India, marking an important milestone in the company’s commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions and supporting the wind power sector.

The remarkable achievement was made possible through the combined expertise of Flender teams from Germany, China and India, each played a vital role in the project’s success. The commissioning of the Test Rig was accomplished in just three months, a testament to the seamless international collaboration and project management.

This expansion enhances Flender’s manufacturing capabilities, positioning the company to better serve the growing demands of both the Indian and global markets. The Walajabad facility’s latest addition reflects Flender’s vision for globally diverse operations and continued leadership in drive technology.
